Attended E's MSW hooding ceremony at the UW Tacoma campus last night.  I was quite moved by the depth of the ceremony.  The smallish size of the cohort allowed each individual to have a bio read as the hooding occured.  The stories were wonderful to listen to and the collective accomplishment was stirring.  Faculty speakers often reminded the graduates that the hard work is yet to come, they are now ready to DO the hard work ahead of them.  A little too much Yogi Berra but a little Dickinson too!

E and I spoke last night how our educational accomplishments are a game changer for the girls, now that we both have advanced degrees the bar is raised for both of them.  Not that we care if they get master's degrees but it is instilled in them that they are privileged to do so if they choose. Regardless of financial means the value of education is being instilled in them - that is my most important contribution to this world yet.
